Services to companies

The Institute of Industrial and Control Engineering offers to companies a wide range of services: advice and development in research and technological innovation, as well as training for companies by means of standard or specialized courses in the fields of control, automation, robotics and industrial engineering and logistics.

When a company or institution requests consultancy or advice, the IOC analyses the case presented, and according to the complexity of the problem and the field of action, it assigns to the project one or more lecturers or collaborators, who will draw up a work proposal (free of charge and without obligation), which, if accepted by the company or institution, will lead to the establishment of the collaboration contract.

In general, the consultancy services offered by the IOC belong to what is known as the ‘high added value’ category, that is, the Institute offers its members’ high level of expertise in their own fields of knowledge: robotics, automation, process control, industrial engineering, operational research, artificial intelligence, etc.

However, if necessary due to the characteristics of the project, the IOC can propose the participation in it of other experts, external to the Institute, whether members of the UPC or outside professionals.

For the provision of these services, the IOC places at the disposal of the companies, in addition to its human potential, the resources it has available, including its electronics and control, logistics and robotics laboratories, its Computing Centre and its library, one of the most important in the country in its range of subjects.
