The research of the IOC is organized in three divisions: Division of Automatic Control, Division of Industrial Engineering and Logistics, Division of Robotics which do, among others, the following activities:

• Consultancy to firms
• Consultancy to to consultancy firms
• Advice
• National and international research and development agreements
  
• Regular training courses (masters, postgraduate, doctorate)
• Specialised training courses for companies
